Moving house is as stressful as it can be. When you have children involved in the picture, the move becomes even more complex. You have so many things to deal with and you are not sure where to start. Therefore, we recommend that you make a full list of everything you should do beforehand. This way you will not get lost in the process.
During this whole chaos that is the
removal itself, one should not forget about his most precious ones – his children. They need special attention because probably for them the whole relocation brings the most uncertainties. As every other child, yours probably is so used to your old home that you will have many difficulties explaining him this transition.
You should arrange several steps regarding the move with your child to the new place. Depending on the age of your child, you should sign them up for either a kindergarten or a school in the new neighborhood or city your family is relocating to. This is just one of the many things on the list. Believe it or not, your children will be the most stressed about the whole move. The reason is that they tend to connect with people and places more than the grown-ups do. Therefore, we recommend that you discuss with your sunshines the whole move prior so they feel that they also have a word in it. If you would like, you can include them in the
removal process, so they can feel helpful. They can either pack the items or look for schools in the new area themselves. Maybe for a pre-school child, it would be much easier to relocate than a teenager since a teenager has already made a quite good social group of friends, why not a relationship and he will most probably not want to move to a faraway city. You should be very patient with your teen and explain to him about the new opportunities that are waiting for him at the new place like a new school, new friends and at a later stage - a job.
We all know how much of a hassle is to move at first place, but please remember that children are important and need special attention.
Therefore we advise you that you keep your children involved in the process of moving and as much informed as possible. We wish you many happy moments at your new home and always remember that family comes first.
